Blue SM Duplex B/I 2.0mm Fiber Optic Patch Cord, OFNR,
12 meters; sc/UPC-sc/UPC; Singlemode fiber optic cable has a small core
and only one pathway of light. With only a single wavelength of light passing
through its core, single-mode realigns the light toward the center of the core
instead of simply bouncing it off the edge of the core as with multimode.

Singlemode is typically used in long-haul network connections spread out over extended areas
--longer than a few miles. For example, telcos use it for connections between switching offices. Singlemode cable features a 9-micron glass core.
The duplex cable consists of two fibers, usually in a zip cord (side-by-side) style. Use duplex multimode
or single-mode fiber optic cable for applications that require simultaneous,
bi-directional(B/I- as in this case) data transfer. Workstations, fiber switches, and servers,
fiber modems, and similar hardware require duplex cable.
OFNR- Optical Fiber Nonconductive Fiber- has glass fiber instead of copper conductive
elements.  It is generally intended for use in vertical runs between floors as part of a fiber
backbone.  This type of cable complies with Underwriter Laboratories(UL) fire safety test
Connectors- SC/UPC-SC/UPC-  SC stands for subscriber connector and is a standard-duplex
fiber-optic connector with a square molded plastic body and push-pull locking features.  SC UPC connector is polished with no angle, which causes a difference in light reflection. SC UPC connector adopts an extended polish method to realize finer fiber surface finish, which brings much lower back reflection (ORL) and thus provides much more reliable signal in the data center, digital TV and telephone.
